Yes, I haven't done any scanning work (or made any posts, yikes!) Since 2016 but I am still around doing other projects. I monitor and reply to my comments and emails pretty quickly for a person who's knee deep in video game archival side projects.

DDL's are Back

Wow!

At long last, and after various struggles. The DDL server is now fully working!

This means all DDL links should be functioning again.

If you find a broken DDL link or (any other issue) please use the email on the sidebar or leave a comment so it can be fixed.

DDL problems

As you may have noticed the DDL links have died all at once.

Well the server I host on has changed it's configuration and I need to go through and manually redo all of the links.  Which is a pain in the arse but I'll get it done eventually.

Also yes, things have been quiet recently. I've been quite busy IRL, which seems to happen once or twice a year. Sorry about that! But I have other things to get done as well.

Two years running and mediafire

I like to think that in some small way [Strange Scans] is chewing through the unimagineable backlog of untranslated and unscanned material that's out there - and while it's been a lot of work. It's been a lot of fun too. It turns out that as of today it's been two years worth! (of fun and work)

Thanks first and foremost to the circles in Japan who've put out the work which is being scanned and editied. Thank you reader for passing through wether you've been keeping an eye on things since the first post or you're stumbling through a year after this post has been made. (it happens!)

And of course thank you to the guys who've helped out or worked with [Strange Scans] the last two years.

Also the Mediafire account of [Strange Scans] has finally - after over two years and multiple infingement notices been closed for copyright violations (on doujinshi?) Unless there are any great suggestions of other file hosts (And I am open to that if there is demand) it looks like it's DDL and E/Ex-Hentai from here on it.

In other news

I've had a lot of business to take care of lately so things have been a bit slower than I had planned. However I'm in the clear for a bit so I got around to changing some things I've been meaning to for a while.

 

All releases including ones posted prior to the DDL server now have a DDL link alongside the usual Mediafire/E-Hentai combo. So even in the event of Megaupload's demise being replicated there will still be links live.

Due to some confusion on what has and hasn't been translated. I took the time to go back through and make sure all translated scans link to the translation post and vice versa. (In case anyone wants to confirm the translation with the raw or something)

 

Tags now show in the sidebar down the right hand side, hopefully this will be usefull for sifting through the releases on here. I'll go back and make sure all of the tags are accurate and add some more in the next day or so.

Formatting for the text only page has been fixed a bunch and looks a lot less shitty.

In regards to recent events..

It looks like Megaupload got popped by the FBI See wired.

So those links are going to be down (obviously).

I'll put them back up on the DDL server but it might take a day or so.

So, how about this.

So I've been musing over a few idea which I'd like to work on/enact in the future - and would like some feedback on them. Things like, muti-lingual translations, accepting donations (I just set that up anyway), selling scanned doujinshi, higher resolution releases and working on scaning/translating actual manga.

I have also attatched an image of a genderswaped Kenshiro above to catch your attention. Has it worked? Good. Follow after the jump for more words about the above subjects. (Or don't, it's not like I c-care or anything baka!)

I've just made a new page over here → the Final Fantasy IX doujinshi collection.

I've been meaning to do this for a while, basically it's all of the scans I've done so far for Final Fantasy IX and all of the other hentai ones I've been collecting in one place - that is to say 43 so far. I haven't quite finished putting all of the hentai ones up yet so if you're interested keep an eye on it.

Of course, because it is H, if loli, tentacles, loli with tentacles, futa, futa tentacles or quina with a gigantic penis is likely to offend you stick to the SFW tag.

Update/filler Part 1

So you may be wondering why I've been quiet the last few weeks.

Well, I've had a pretty big computer upgrade. Changed OS (XP -> windows 7) and lost my old copy of photoshop. So I've spent the last few days getting everything back together, re-installing all of my old programs, and unstalling and triming a ton of junk that seems to come with everything (I'm looking at you msn)

It'll be business as usual in a while and I have some really nice quality stuff to get through. Until then though please stick around and enjoy the scenery and/or filler posts that I make until I get things up and running again.
